    This is a very valuable lecture. I learned quite a bit from it and intend to print it out and read it more carefully when I am back at my office. Ludwig Fleck’s name was known to me and I knew he was an early fore-runner of the Kuhn thesis about paradigms and normal science, etc. But I really had not previously linked him up to Freud and Brill or, for that matter, Galicia and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The importance of Bildung is also central to Max Weber and Thomas Mann.
