Helen Meyers inspired us by her energy and youthful enthusiasm, even when, in later years, she suffered from serious physical illness. She was the driving force behind the Regional Psychoanalytic Meetings, annual meetings of all the analytic groups in the greater New York Metropolitan areas. These meetings encouraged imaginative thinking on a variety of unusual topics, and informal socialization. Helen was without pretense, without guile, and her fresh ideas and insightful comments could sometimes be intimidating- but she always tempered them with humor, and she always had a friendly smile. Helen can never be replaced. henry kaminer , new york city
