    Please notice that the survey only included psychiatrists and said nothing about the vast numbers of clinical social workers out there. We are currently the largest group of providers of mental health services in the country. It’s notable that an MD was only considering other MDs as providers and not looking at the entire picture of who are the providers of services in this country. The survey also ignores the fact that non-MD providers get paid by insurance companies, including Medicare and Medicaid, at a reduced rate from what is paid to MD providers.
