Teaching Method: Clinical presentation and discussion.

Learning Objectives: The Reshaping of the Frame: Presence/Absence of the Body in the Psychoanalytic Encounter

Participants will learn about the notion of “analytic frame” and its evolution in Psychoanalysis.
Participants will learn in the clinical material presented how the presence/absence of the body has challenged and transformed the basic premise of the “analytic frame” as the vehicle of transferential and counter-transferential dynamics within the analytic dyad.
Participants will learn how the breaking down of what constituted a traditional analytic frame has affected the analytic process in terms of projections, resistance, transference, countertransference, boundaries, etc.
Participants will learn from three unique perspectives how analysts have faced and processed the reshaping of the analytic frame in their work.
