ADMISSION General: $150 includes 6 CE credits Candidates: $40 includes 6 CE credits This daylong event will start with an in-depth clinical presentation by Posadas and progress through facilitated large and small group experiences to generate sustained explorations of countertransferential reactions to gender and sexual diversity. This format comes out of some of the work that the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA) Sexual and Gender Diversity Studies Committee (S&GDSco) has been doing since 2017 to carve out spaces for psychoanalysts, psychoanalytic candidates, and psychodynamyc clinicians to discuss issues pertaining to the intersection of gender and sexual diversity and psychoanalysis. Posadas will present clinical and non-clinical material to illustrate how prejudices towards racialized and gender-marginalized patients can be both enacted in the clinical situation, and repeated and perpetuated in psychoanalytic institutions. We will have opportunities to develop strategies to strengthen the therapeutic alliance when working with gender and racially diverse patients, prevent and repair ruptures in the therapeutic alliance, and identify opportunities for psychoanalytic institutions to benefit from the work of the S&GDSco.
**Given the unique format of this event, all who attend are expected to participate throughout the entire day. As there are a limited number of places available, early registration is recommended.

Marcos Posadas, MSW, RSW, FIPA is Chief Clinical Officer of The House of Purpose, a consulting firm where he develops psychoanalytically informed programs for organizations. He is a Psychoanalyst member of the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA), Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychologist (MEX), and PhD Candidate at Smith College School for Social Work. He is in private practice in Toronto. Marco trained at the Toronto Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (TPS&I) and is a member of the Canadian Psychoanalytic Society, the Mexican Psychoanalytic Association, and the International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA). He is the current Chair of the Gender and Sexual Diversity Studies Committee of the IPA, and the Scientific Program of the Advanced Training Program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. He is faculty at the Toronto Institute of Psychoanalysis where he works to integrate cultural, gender and sexual diversity, and anti-oppressive practice into psychoanalysis. He is adjunct faculty at Smith College School of Social Work. He served on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) where he was recipient of the 2013 OASW Inspirational Leader Award for his work with underserved and marginalized populations.

1. To understand the ubiquitous cultural prejudices regarding gender and sexuality.
2. To identify and reflect upon countertransference responses to gender and sexually diverse patients in clinical interactions.
3. To develop the skills needed to process these responses in ways that maximize constructive engagement in the clinical encounter.
4. To design strategies for working with gender and sexually diverse patients.

(5) CE credits will be granted to participants who have registered, have documented evidence of attendance of the entire program and have completed the on-line evaluation form. Upon completion of the evaluation form a Certificate of Completion will be emailed to all participants who comply with these requirements.
