This clinical workshop will center on issues in treating adolescent girls with a particular focus on the biracial adolescent. Dr. Arrington will describe the treatment of a 16 year-old biracial girl who suffered from issues of loss and abandonment. Treatment concerns specific to biracial and adolescent girls of color will be emphasized, including the biases and countertransference inherent in clinical settings that may impact the treatment of these girls. Dr. Arrington will also speak to the intersectionality* experienced by adolescent girls of color in clinical settings.
